First District Council

Image
Super good week!!     This was my first week as district leader and so I've kinda been settling in to my new role. I had to prepare and then conduct my first district council on Thursday and so that was kinda cool.     Something that everyone up here in the mountains struggles with is finding new people to teach. This week I really wanted to set an example for the rest of the district and so I was praying that we could find some new people to start teaching and we found 3!! I was so happy. We haven't found that many people in one week since I got up to the mountains. It was so awesome.     Also this week, we had a baptism for Cosma!! It was such a great service. Her whole family showed up and none of them are members and Cosma's the youngest person in their family. The baptism led to us setting up a visit with her sisters this upcoming week, though they're not counted as one of our three new people. Unfortunately, we have to wait until next Sunday to confir...

Entire District Staying Again

Image
Hey guys!!     This week we had kind of a mixed week, but it was still good!     Cosma had an interview this week so she's all ready to go. Her baptism will be this Saturday and so we're really excited for her. She is the youngest person in her family and the only one that'll be a member. She has so much support from the ward and she loves coming to church and mutual. We're really hoping to get started with her family after her baptism so that'd be really awesome.     We're still working with Randy. It's looking like we're gonna need first presidency approval for him, so we might have to wait a while but he's hanging in there. He still loves meeting with us and he's such a great guy. He's been really wanting to get baptized, but the wait doesn't seem to be getting him down. He understands why it had to be that way so it's really awesome. I love him.     Sunday night we got transfer news. My entire district is staying for a third trans...

Teaching With No Background

Image
Hey guys!!     This last week was rather slow to be honest but still awesome. Most of our effective work happens on the weekends because everyone is off work and we can talk to a bunch of people. This week was slow because spring break started and so during the weekend, no one was home.     This last week my companion and I had a first lesson with a kid named Drake. He's 14 and he's a really cool kid. The weird thing is that he's a completely blank slate. He has no Christian background and so we had to explain who Jesus Christ is and what he did for us. I've never had to teach someone with no background so that was kinda weird and difficult but cool. The other cool thing is that we haven't had anyone to teach in that ward since I got transferred here and we've been praying for someone. It's hard to do work in that ward because we live thirty minutes away from it, but now we have someone to teach so that's awesome.     We had some service with a hoarder t...

Service In The Mountains

Image
Hey guys!!     Most of the snow has melted this week and so now there's a ton of mud everywhere.      So at the beginning of this week we had interviews and zone conference. At zone conference we combine with all the zones in the mountains and so we get to see a ton of missionaries up there and it's really fun. This zone conference we learned about finding when we teach and teaching when we find. It was pretty cool.      We've also been doing a ton of service this week. Like I've said in the past, service has been an amazing source of finding up here in the mountains where finding is really hard. This week we found two new people. One of them is Pharah, she's 15 and she's Cosma's sister. She was pretty ready to hear from us. Also, Cosma's other sister came to church with her and so we're hoping to start teaching her this week as well.     We also found another kid named Drake and he's 14. We are going to start working with him this week ...
