Snowed In, In Arizona

Image
This week it snowed a ton! We almost got snowed into our apartment a few days ago. I'm starting to wonder how this is part of Arizona. I've been dying from the cold.      The area I'm in now is so much different than my last one, it's crazy. I went from half a ward to 3 wards. We also went from teaching like 8 people down to 2. The work up in the mountains is all through members because about 80% of the population up here is members and the other 20% is people who asked for their records to be removed so it's quite a bit slower than where I was. Our biggest goal is just to find where we can serve. We've been spending a lot of time out in the community helping out.      I don't really know what else there really is. I caught a Jack rabbit take off across the yard the other day and I caught it on camera so that was actually exciting. Other than that. Not too many exciting things happening here.      Love you guys

The last time I emailed was a few days ago, but a ton has happened in the last few days. Friday, we did a bunch of service in the morning. We were clearing branches out of someone's yard and taking out a ton of trash and stuff like that. Then later, we had a practice for our ward Christmas live nativity play thing.      On Saturday we did more service in the morning, putting together little goodie bag type things. Then we had a lesson with Rosa and Mizael with our Bishop. They are a real handful. They live together but aren't married which is what's keeping them from baptism but they have insane relationship issues. It's gotten so bad to the point that we kinda have to turn them over to the ward, who is turning them over to a counselor. So hopefully those get worked out. They've actually been doing a lot better and Rosa said that Mizael is a completely different man since he started coming to church with us. So they are getting really close to baptism. Saturday nigh...

Not Much Success

Image
Hey guys! This week was a little hard on the missionary side of things. Not much success. It's getting a lot harder to find people out and about in this frigid 70° weather. Daniel missed his baptismal date this week so that was really sad. My companion and I are starting the light the world initiative so we're trying to look for ways that we can spread the word about light the world and show the light the world videos. It's pretty fun. The videos are awesome and we're thinking about different ways we can share with tons of people. We get to go the temple this next week on Thursday so that'll be my first time since coming out to the field so I'm really excited for that. Also that means that my p day won't be until Thursday next week so ya I can't email next Monday. Well that's all I can think of for now. Love you guys Merry Christmas!     Elder Wilhelmsen Dinner at the Bishops house
