Back Problems

Hey guys! This week started out by me straining or tearing or doing something to my back. I've had a ton of scoliosis problems since I've been out here for some reason. Anyways I was out for that whole day, I literally couldn't move at all. I just laid there all day which was terrible and I was in tons of pain all day. I literally laid on the floor in our room until dinner because I couldn't move. Then that night we went and saw Rosa and Mizael and they are still super solid. They keep progressing super well every time we go and see them. On Wednesday I went out on my first exchange. It was such a relief to speak English. The lessons were 1000 times smoother and easier to get through. This week something kinda crazy that happened is that my companion started having blood is his urine. So we went to the urgent care and he has a urinary tract infection. Anyways that's pretty much it. Love all you guys.

First Taste Of Rejection

Hey guys. This week had it's way ups and way downs. This week one of our super solid investigators told us that she doesn't want to meet with us anymore. It was my first real taste of rejection. She closed the door and I literally just stood there not saying anything looking at the door. I seriously felt like I wanted to cry. The sting stuck with me for the rest of the night. Then, on Thursday, my companion and I taught a guy who has been invited to be baptized before and he's missed his date a couple times. We had it in the chapel and the Spirit was so strong. We asked him to move his date up a couple weeks and so we'll see how it goes. It was seriously the strongest I've felt the Spirit since I got here. The problem that my companion and I keep running into is that so many people here ask my companion and I for money. People will always come up to us and ask us basically if they can become a member so that they have access to the Bishop's storehouse. It's ...

We're Of God

Hey guys!!! Another good week for us! We found 3 new people this week that we are teaching! Denise speaks English so we're gonna have to give her up after a few lessons so that really sucks. The other two though are super solid though and they both speak Spanish. I'm like 95% positive that Rosa will be and then like 50% that her ex husband Mizael will be. They're both super solid and they ask lots of questions and they listen to everything we have to say. We gave Rosa a blessing and she said that she now knows that we’re of God because she feels better. We gave 3 blessings for the sick today and those were super spiritual experiences. We also did a lot of service this week. My Spanish has gotten better this week and I've been talking quite a bit in our lessons. Also me and my companion have been speaking a lot more Spanish to each other so that's helped. That's pretty much it for this week. Love all of you guys!!

Bike Problems

Hey family and friends!!      This was my first real week in the field. So... my zone has zone sports every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday in the mornings and we usually just play like basketball or ultimate frisbee or something so that is pretty fun. The other mornings I just have to do sit ups and push ups in my room or something because my companion doesn't like running. After exercise every morning we have study and between companionship study, personal study, and daily planning, it takes us all the way up until lunch. And then after lunch, we have language study for another hour, so we're not out of our apartment until at least one every day. On Thursday, I had just about every bike problem you could imagine, my bike was having brake problems and so I dropped that one off and they gave me a loaner and said we probably will have it done by Saturday night. Then, the loaner had brakes that didn't even work and neither did the gears so I went and switched that one in for...

Out In The Field!

Hey family!! This week has been sooo crazy. I finished the MTC this week on Monday and flew to Phoenix on Monday morning. We got picked up by our Mission President at around 5 and they took us to the mission home in Scottsdale and they fed us dinner and everything. It was so nice because we didn't have to eat the trashy food at the CCM anymore and we could eat a home cooked meal. After dinner they sent us to an apartment where we stayed the night across the street from the mission home. Then the next morning we went back to the mission office and church building and they gave us breakfast and then they took pics with us and then we went over to the church for some training and info. Right before lunch, all the trainers came in and they sat us all down and one by one called us up to meet our new companions. It was so sketchy because we knew who all the prospects were but not which one was ours. I got assigned with Elder Kastello and we were assigned to the mesa area of our mission. ...
