Unexpected Surprise

We were supposed to have a baptism for Jesus this week but it fell through... His dad took away the permission he had previously given to him. So that was a real bummer from this week. Thursday, we were in a trio with a missionary that's about to go home, and we found 3 new people that day. All of our lessons were falling through so we went out and found some new people to teach. In all, we found 5 new people this week which is the most I've been able to find in one week. Mesa isn't really known for its ability to find new people to teach compared to like Phoenix.

Friday, we had zone conference. And it was our first real zone conference with our new mission president. It was really good. He's really inspired and ready to move the mission forward.

Then Saturday, I had another exchange, but this one was out on the Papago Reservation with my trainer. It was so awesome to be able to be back with him for the day. Him and I had a really good time, and I got to be back in a car for the day and escape the biking in the heat. It's a grind.

That's it for this week. Not much else super notable.

Love you all

From MOM: He was with his companion at the church today and his companion received a video phone chat (just like how we talk to Kyle). It was his cousin. So he went over to the other side of the gym to talk to him.  A few minutes later his companion said, "ELDER, get over here!". Kyle went over to where he was and looked at his companions phone.  There on the screen was his cousin Justus Wilhelmsen who is currently serving in Bolivia.  He is at the mission office there because he has finished his 2 year mission and is leaving to return back here to Boise in less than 13 hours.  Kyle's companion's cousin is the AP (assistant to the president) in Bolivia.  Somehow they made the connection that they were both with an Elder Wilhelmsen.  Kyle and his cousin were able to talk for about 15 minutes.  He said it was awesome.  They haven't talked for two years and they were good buds before he left.  What a tender mercy :)
