Things Just Make Perfect Sense

Hey family!

6 months, what?! At the beginning of this week I had a very cool opportunity. I got to facetime with two of my friends that are taking the missionary discussions. It was awesome. A couple of my other friends that are on missions got to Skype in as well and it was insane to see them all again. We had a really cool lesson and my missionary friends and I got to share some cool experiences and bare our testimonies to our friends and it was just a really good experience.

A couple days later my companion and I took our recent convert Sissy to the temple! It was so cool because the Sunday before, we got her with the family history consultant and she got to take some of her own family names. It was really spiritual and she really liked it.

On Sunday, I gave a talk in the morning and it went really well. They asked me to talk on missionary work and so that was probably the easiest topic I could speak on. It went really well. I typed up this big long talk and then I started freely talking at the pulpit and about 15 minutes in I was only half way through my material. Giving a talk as a missionary is a lot different than it was when I was home. I wanted to stay up there a lot longer but I had to cut it short because we ran out of time. That night we went to a broadcast of an Arizona-wide devotional with President Nelson and his wife and President Oaks and his wife. Their talks were really really good about the Book of Mormon and gathering scattered Israel and different topics like that. We got 2 people we're teaching to come so that was really cool.

Some not so good news... We've been wanting to baptize Randy for quite a long time and he wants to get baptized super bad, and the baptism was coming up in two weeks, but due to his past, he has to have a probation hearing which was supposed to be yesterday, but it was postponed for a month. Super frustrating. So my mission president can't even decide if he can get baptized yet for another month. It's really sad. We're hoping that his flame doesn't burn out because something like this can really bum people out.

I think last week I mentioned the guy who let us come over because of the service we were doing for him. So, we had dinner with them on Thursday and at the end of that we shared a spiritual thought about faith and they loved it. So then he asked us to come over and do service on Monday and so we helped him out and then after that he asked us about the devotional about the prophet and so we started talking about that which led to a conversation about the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, and Pearl of Great Price. He says that everything we're telling him about those things just makes perfect sense, about the timeline and things like that. It was a super cool experience and we hope things keep going well for him. He loves us and has a lot of trust in us.

Today we went to the temple as a zone and it was my first time in the snowflake temple and that was a fun experience. That's everything I can think for this week. I love all of you guys. Hope you have a great week!!
