"Oh, It's The Mormons"

This week was kind of a crazy week. Tuesday was New Year's day and so they didn't really want us cold contacting people so after our one lesson we were hanging out with some other missionaries. Then we had an overnight exchange with the zone leaders (which I requested) Tuesday night and then all of Wednesday I was in their area. I'm so grateful for the opportunity that we had to do that. I finally got to see how mountain work really should be done and ever since that exchange we've been a lot busier and we've seen a little more success.

Thursday we went tracting and we found this guy named Alec who's met with missionaries in the past and said that he's good where he's at but then I started talking about the Book of Mormon with him and by the end of the conversation unconvinced him to let us come over and read with him. So hopefully that happens and goes well.

We also went tracting another day and we knocked on this guy's door and he answered with a gun and said, “oh it's the Mormons”. He let us in and was super pumped to talk with us! He had never met with missionaries before and knew very little about our religion. He's a very devoted catholic but he's very interested in learning about us. We gave him a copy of the Book of Mormon and he promised to read and he already has been highlighting stuff. It was an insane visit. And the crazy thing is that they moved in three days ago. During the conversation his wife walked in and was extremely interested as well and they were both asking a ton of questions. It went really well.

Something a little more sad is that we had someone on date for baptism for this Saturday but we have to postpone the baptism for a few weeks.

But on the brighter side, we're teaching someone named Randy and he's extremely ready to be baptized. His date was set for the end of February and he just told us the other day that he's interested in moving it up to the beginning of January and that his wife would be interested in meeting with us as well!! Then on Sunday he showed up to church with his wife! After church our bishop met with the two of them and then told us they had a great visit, that Randy is ready to get baptized and that he thinks it'll be a family thing. And they have 4 baptism age people in their family so that's really awesome. Sorry to hear you guys didn't get any snow. Probably because it's all up here. Love you guys. Have a great week!!
