Not A Normal Thanksgiving

Hey fam! This was another good week. We have found a few new people this week which is getting harder because now that it's starting to get colder it's harder to find people out on the street to talk to so we are having to go tracting which is not that effective but we're doing it anyways. I hope Thanksgiving was awesome for everyone. So our ward has a calendar that people sign up to feed us and the person who signed up for Thanksgiving was an old single guy in the ward so he asked us if he could bring a pizza to the church and we could eat there. We were kinda bummed out because all the English missionaries were getting legit dinners and stuff. So on Thanksgiving morning, one of the sisters was talking to me and asked us what we were doing for Thanksgiving and it didn't sit too well with her so she asked one of the people in her ward if we could come over for Thanksgiving while I was standing right there so it was super awkward. So it didn't turn out to be so bad. Then the guy who signed up brought burgers instead of a pizza. So that's how my Thanksgiving went. And we also did some service that morning at the stake Turkey trot. For the first time in my mission I got the door slammed in my face without even getting a word out. And it happened twice in one day. I started thinking about the things that Jesus had to go through when people spit on him and treated him like garbage. There's a talk I was listening to by Elder Holland that said that when we say why does it have to be so hard isn't there another way, we should remember that we’re not the first ones to ask that. Someone a lot better than us asked his father that a long time ago. It kinda put it in perspective for me. I can't believe it's almost Christmas!! We're starting our light the world initiative thing so if you guys haven't seen what they're doing this year I would encourage you guys to look it up. Thanks guys for all the letters and prayers!
